Ambient Light – Philips Hue control your light environment from your iPhone or iPad

Von , 27. November 2012 11:09

Control your light environment from your iPhone or iPad. The starter pack is available for 199$ and in Germany for 199€ via the Apple online store. I’m not aware of the opportunity to buy them in the retail store, but maybe they have the Hue in stock too.

Light automation without the need for an additional home house bus system like KNX / EIB for example.

KNX is a standardized (EN 50090, ISO/IEC 14543), OSI-based network communications protocol for intelligent buildings. KNX is the successor to, and convergence of, three previous standards: the European Home Systems Protocol (EHS), BâtiBUS, and the European Installation Bus (EIB or Instabus). The KNX standard is administered by the KNX Association.”

Netgear Powerline

Von , 5. Juli 2012 08:21

Nowadays we’ve more than one technology to connect our devices.

Our printer has to move into the technic room an therefore it needs connectivity in there.

I don’t want to install cable or use wifi, so the powerline seems a good alternative.

Microsoft goes tablet – Microsoft surface, no not the table

Von , 19. Juni 2012 09:05

My first thought was – surface wasn’t that the table with multitouch ?

By the way the Microsoft surface table was a great device but a little bit pricey.

Ok a tablet has touch operation too, but it’s a bit ambiguous with the same name.

Regrettably the surface tablet isn’t available at the moment so we’ve to wait until autumn.

Internet radio unpacking and first impressions

Von , 30. Mai 2012 12:08

Overall it’s worth buying. The need for an account on squezeebox.com makes no sence for me, but ok we’ve seen worse things.

The Logitech squezebox looks elegant and solid even with the piano plastic surface.

When looking for an internet radio the Logitech or Philips series are shortlisted.

The decision for the Logitech was by the fact of some user reports mention problems with the philips ones.

After 2 weeks in use I think it’s a nice device with the only drawback of the must have squeezebox.com account.

Kindle Touch 3G hits Europe

Von , 29. März 2012 13:49

Preorder is opend and availability should be 27th of April 2012. Placed my order !
I still own a Kindle, WLAN, 15 cm (6 Zoll) E Ink Display without the touch screen and the 3G, but this option is a must buy. Even with the iPad3 as option, the Kindle is a fantastic ebook reader and that’s it ! Reading ebooks on the iPad is great too, but the weights of the both devices are a little bit different and by the way loosing a Kindle wouldn’t be so painfull for that price.

3G is limited to the own amazon purchases and wikipedia.

Office monitor – Samsung Syncmaster S27A850D LED

Von , 29. März 2012 13:35

It seems that Samsung reaches the status of the Big A-Player in the monitor market. My experience with monitors from Samsung had been pleasent all the time. There are other players on the market with even worse monitor solutions. My new office monitor will be from Samsung again.

The Samsung Syncmaster S27A850D LED and looks like this:

It’s a really nice looking gadget business tool.
There is a 24″ version too, the Samsung SyncMaster S24A850DW 61 cm (24 Zoll) Widescreen LED Monitor (DVI,VGA, 5ms Reaktionszeit) schwarz
